WSPS' Massimo Russo scores 98/100 for Music 2 in the HSC, contributing to his 99. 40% ATAR

Massimo scored 98 in Music 2 this year - the highest mark awarded in the state this year was 99. Have a read of what Massimo has to say about the advantages of studying music in the HSC for your ATAR:
"Reflecting on my year 12 experience, I would strongly recommend to students with a musical background to study 'Music 2' in their HSC as it can deliver great advantages to your ATAR. Every year, the Music 2 HSC course (not to be confused with Music 1) is one of the highest scaling subjects in the HSC. Music 2 is renowned for holding the highest percentage of student with a band 6 (90+) - with over 45% of students achieving a band 6 for this course in 2021. This is clearly due to the fact that many students who choose Music 2 already hold a deep understanding of music (generally grade 8+ AMEB), and therefore score well in Music 2. Having studied music at Western Sydney Music School, I was given access to diligent, hard working, and passionate teachers which cultivated both my performance ability and underlying foundation of musical knowledge. This undoubtedly enabled me to achieve success in Music 2. Once again, I would very strongly recommend to any student with a strong musical background (grade 8+ AMEB) to undertake Music 2 for the HSC. It is a subject that scales well and allows young, passionate, and talented musicians to get a boost in their ATAR. For those in earlier school years, I would recommend that you strive hard to work towards grade 8 before Year 12 so that you can also potentially benefit from the opportunity the Music 2 HSC course offers NSW students."
