At WSPS, we celebrate every milestone in our students’ journey. We are proud to honor these outstanding achievers for their hard work and remarkable success.

Massimo Russo began his musical journey at Western Sydney Piano School at the age of eight, quickly demonstrating a strong passion for the piano under the structured guidance of Dr Tanya. He has consistently achieved A/A+ results in professional music examinations, alongside an outstanding score of 98 in HSC Music 2 (state highest: 99), contributing to a 99.40% ATAR. In 2025, he was awarded First Prize at The Marilyn Meier Chopin Competition (Australia), marking a significant milestone in his musical development.

Reflecting on his musical journey, Massimo shared that having begun his musical training at Western Sydney Music School at the age of 8, he was able to grow under the guidance of dedicated and passionate teachers who nurtured both his performance skills and a strong foundation in musical knowledge, enabling his success in HSC Music 2. He strongly recommends the Music 2 course to students with a solid musical background (AMEB Grade 8 or above), noting that it scales well and offers a valuable opportunity to enhance ATAR results. He also encourages younger students to work diligently towards Grade 8 prior to Year 12 in order to fully benefit from the academic and artistic advantages of the HSC Music 2 program.
